Kansas Apply Free Days are for all Kansas residents, including transfer students. Whether you are completing your studies at a community or technical college and looking to continue on to a university or want to transfer from one institution to another, you are covered under the Apply Free Days.

Fee Waivers for Financial Hardship Year-Round

All of our Kansas colleges and universities have application fee waivers for financial hardship during the entire year. As such, if you are struggling to pay an application fee and wish to submit your admission application before (or after) the Apply Free Days, contact the admission office at the college/university you want to apply to for more information or complete the Application Fee Waiver form linked below.

  • No application fee from Monday, October 5 through Friday, October 9 at 5 p.m.
  • Kansas residents who wish to seek admission to a Kansas public or independent college or university are eligible to submit undergraduate or general admission applications for free on October 5-9, 2026.
  • Which Kansas Residents are Eligible:
    • First time Freshmen
    • Adult Learners
    • Students on Free and Reduced Lunch
    • Students not on Free and Reduced Lunch
    • Transfer and Returning Students
    • Students applying for certificate programs
  • Which Kansas Residents are Not Eligible
    • Students applying for nursing programs mid-degree
    • Students applying for graduate programs
  • Students are encouraged to apply only to schools they are considering attending
