Pamela Clancy Ammar was appointed to the Kansas Board of Regents by Governor Laura Kelly in 2025.

Regent Ammar began her career as an attorney in 1989 and joined Morrison & Hecker (Stinson). In 1996, she joined Woodard, Blaylock, Hernandez, Roth & Day, LLC as a partner and specialized in medical malpractice defense and employment law. In 2003, the Wichita Business Journal featured her in its inaugural class of Women in Business. In 2008, she retired as a trial lawyer.

Throughout her career, Regent Ammar has been very involved in civic and community organizations. She served in many leadership roles with the Wichita Bar Association, including as president. She has served on numerous boards for local nonprofits including the American Cancer Society (Board President), Wichita Children’s Home (Board Chair), Kansas Humane Society (Board Chair), Lords Diner, Wichita Community Foundation, Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, and Heartspring. She was also Vice-Chair of Wesley Medical Center’s Board of Trustees for 15 years and chaired the Dean’s Advisory Council for the College of Health Professions from 2006-2024, serving four Deans. 

Regent Ammar serves as Chair-elect of Wichita State University Foundation and Alumni Engagement. She previously served on the WSU Alumni Association and SASO Board of Directors.

Regent Ammar graduated cum laude from Wichita State University in 1980 with a BS in Health Science. In 1989, she went on to complete her J.D. from the Sturm College of Law at the University of Denver.
