Peter S. Johnston was appointed to the Kansas Board of Regents in 2025 by Governor Laura Kelly and confirmed in 2026 by the Kansas Senate.
Regent Johnston is an attorney with the law firm of Clark, Mize & Linville, Chartered of Salina and serves as general counsel to Salina Regional Health Center. He also serves as a trustee of the University of Kansas Endowment Association and previously served as a member of the Kansas Board of Law Examiners, as well as the Salina Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the session of First Presbyterian Church in Salina.
He earned both his B.A. (as an English major) and J.D. degrees from the University of Kansas.
